stronger

Friedrich Nietzsche once said “That which doesn’t kill us makes us stronger”. This is a proven fact we learn from our mistakes. We learn how to improve ourselves. We learn how to be better. I believe that learning from our own mistakes is one of the most effective ways to learn. This is because we learn first-hand what we have done wrong we experience it for ourselves and we figure out what we need to do to be better. For many of us being told what bad outcome from our actions isn’t enough, many of us need to experience it to truly understand.
My mother would always tell me to be grateful for the trials that where put in front of me because they were put there to make me stronger and to make me a better person. Imagine going on with life without facing any kind of trial or tribulation. Imagine how naïve you would become. Without trials or tribulations you wouldn’t have anything to challenge you, nothing to overcome. Life would become boring and bland knowing that you were capable of overcoming anything and everything. You would have nothing to fear nothing to prepare for nothing new to expect.
I know as a growing teen I have faced many trials in the last few years. One thing I have learned from all my trails is that something good always comes from it. No matter how hard or gruesome that tribulation may be there is always something to learn from it even if it is something minor or something that won’t affect you every day of your life.
One of the first trials I faced when starting high school was transferring schools. I started freshmen year as a student of Littlerock High School. Two weeks into the school year I was forced to transfer over to Highland High. At the moment it seemed to be the worst thing that could possibly happen to me. I was ripped away from my friends and the warm little town I grew up in. I would have never thought how many amazing people I would meet or how much I would accomplish from this. I soon learned that it was either I start to break out of my shell or I become known as the shy girl that has no friends. I learned that it’s not so bad to be on your own without friends or family near your side. Even though I thought this experience was bound to break me it truly made me stronger.

  1. I totally agree with this quote! If there things in life that have confronted us and we CAN overcome, then its not to make us be brought down, but like what the quote said "make us stronger"! We become someone special through our struggles and eventually we build our character.
